Brittani Garcia, MHC-LP

Brittani is a bilingual psychotherapist who provides trauma-informed, client-centered care in both English and Spanish. She works with adults navigating anxiety, stress, relational challenges, life transitions, and personal growth. Her approach is grounded in empathy, cultural awareness, and evidence-based clinical practices. Brittani strives to create a space where clients feel safe, heard, understood, and empowered to explore their experiences without judgment.

Brittani earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with honors from Florida International University, where she focused on Behavioral Analysis, followed by a Master’s degree in Applied Psychology from New York University, with a focus on School Counseling and Mental Health and Wellness. She also completed an Advanced Certificate in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Alfred University, further strengthening her clinical training and preparation as a mental health counselor. Her training has provided her with a strong foundation in evidence-based interventions, relational and attachment-focused approaches, trauma-informed care, and culturally responsive practices.

Brittani believes therapy is not about changing who you are, but about helping you better understand yourself, process experiences at your own pace, develop tools to navigate difficult emotions and relationships, and reconnect with your sense of agency and inner strength.

Her professional background spans mental health, education, and community-based programming. For six years, Brittani worked across the Northwest region of Haiti, partnering with local schools and communities to support students and families through educational and mental health initiatives. She also contributed to similar programs in the Dominican Republic, experiences that deepened her understanding of the importance of culturally responsive care and the ways culture, community, family, and environment can shape emotional well-being.

In New York City, Brittani served as a Team Lead with the Community Health and Mindfulness Program in Brooklyn, an initiative funded by the New York State Office of Mental Health. In this role, she helped develop and implement mental health and wellness initiatives, psychoeducational programming, and support groups, while collaborating with community organizations throughout New York City to promote mental health awareness, emotional resilience, and greater access to meaningful support.

Brittani brings these experiences into her work with each client, recognizing that no two people arrive in therapy with the same story or needs. She believes in taking a collaborative approach and meeting clients where they are, while helping them build greater self-awareness, strengthen boundaries, navigate relationships and life transitions, and develop a deeper sense of confidence and connection within themselves.

Outside of her clinical work, Brittani enjoys yoga, meditation, horseback riding, and spending time in nature. These practices have taught her the importance of balance, mindfulness, and making space for both reflection and restoration. She carries these values into her work and encourages clients to explore what wellness and balance can look like in their own lives.
